Geoff Fisher

Geoff Fisher ’77 of Tolland, Connecticut, is grateful to God that his oldest son has been in remission from acute lymphoblastic leukemia for six years

Stan Scheumann

Stan Scheumann ’77 serves as the president of the board of directors for the Lutheran Camp Association, which owns Camp Arcadia, a Lutheran retreat center in Arcadia, Michigan. Camp Arcadia has served individuals, teens, and families since 1922, offering unique “vacations with God” along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Many Valpo alumni attend Camp Arcadia each summer.

John Plagens

John Plagens ’77, professor of English at Japan Lutheran College in Tokyo, and Kit Nagel ’78, professor of international business at Concordia-Irvine, have been friends since their Valpo days. In May 2018, they put together a global business master class in Japan.

Michael Gregory

Michael Gregory ’77 founded Michael Gregory Consulting LLC after retiring from the federal government in 2011. He has written 11 books, more than 30 articles, and given more than 325 presentations around the globe. His latest book is Business Valuation and the IRS: Five Books in One.

Deborah Thomas

Judge Deborah Thomas ’77 J.D. currently serves as a judge on the Wayne County Third Circuit Court. She was published in The Detroit News on Dec. 30, 2014, for her effort to encourage continued education for criminal defendants. Once placed on probation, the individuals are ordered to obtain their high school diploma or equivalency certificate. This project has improved the lives of many and provides more stable communities in Wayne County, Mich.
