Terry Wetzel
Terry Wetzel ’81 M.Ed. was inducted into the Museum of Nebraska Major League Baseball Hall of Fame on July 8, 2023. He first taught and coached in Ohio, Indiana, and Texas. In 1983 he joined the staff of the Kansas City Royals and his distinguished career in baseball took off. He has spent nearly 40 years in baseball, including 17 years with the Royals, 14 years with the Colorado Rockies, six years with the Washington Nationals, as well as work with USA Baseball and the Olympics.

Ray Portenga
Roy Portenga ’81 J.D. was inducted into the State Bar of Michigan Workers’ Compensation Hall of Fame in 2021. He also received the Muskegon Community College Alumni of the Year award.
Luke Curtis
Luke Curtis ’81 taught a course in occupational medicine in spring 2021 at East Carolina University. In 2021 alone, Luke published eight medical journal papers, including a large review on COVID-19 and air pollution in Environmental Science and Pollution Research and a large review of COVID-19 and nutrition in Journal of Infectious Diseases & Therapy.
