To me, the mural stands for community. We chose to feature icons of Valpo, like the Victory Bell, but also of the campus’ nature, like Merlin, and surrounding communities, like Valpo’s love of popcorn. Since the Bell & Beacon is a place where students come to socialize and be together, I wanted it to make people feel like they are a part of something. That was one of the major reasons I wanted to contribute to this project.
