Scott Kapers Drafted by Texas Rangers

Valpo catcher Scott Kapers was selected in the 17th round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Texas Rangers. A standout for Valpo during the 2018 season, Scott earned a place on the MVC All- Defensive Team before garnering MVC All-Tournament Team honors.

For Valpo, Scott’s draft pick marks the eighth time in the past nine years that a member of the baseball team has been selected in the MLB Draft. And, for Scott, “It’s a dream come true.”
