Gisela Gerber Zech ’66

Gisela Gerber Zech ’66, 70, died May 3, 2015, at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, Calif. She is survived by her husband, Ron Zech ’65, their two sons, Kurt and Erik, and six grandchildren.

Gisela earned a B.A. in sociology and geography at Valparaiso University and a teaching degree at the University of Wisconsin. She and Ron met during their freshman year at Valparaiso University. While at Valpo, Gisela was a member of the Alpha Phi Delta Sorority. Gisela is most remembered for her caring, positive, and engaging presence in the lives of her family, friends, and students.

Gisela and Ron recently established the Gisela and Ron Zech Endowed Scholarship Fund at Valparaiso University, which provides scholarships for seriously wounded members of the armed forces or their dependents. Gifts in memory of Gisela may be directed to this scholarship.
